CEA 2026

The 60th Annual Meetings of the Canadian Economics Association will be hosted by the Department of Economics at Simon Fraser University (SFU) from May 28th to May 30th, 2026. The conference sessions will take place at the downtown campus of SFU located at 515 West Hastings Street. 

An Online Day of Meetings will be held virtually on Friday, May 22nd, 2026.

Programme chair is Professor Paul Beaudry (Vancouver School of Economics, UBC) and the local organizers are Professor Steeve Mongrain and Professor Kevin Schnepel at Simon Fraser University.

Student Travel Grants

Please submit your registration form and travel grant application before the deadline of March 15th, 2026. Application information forthcoming.

  • Important Dates and Deadlines

    December 2025 The programme chair starts accepting submissions of papers for presentation at the conference through the web interface.
    January 31, 2026 Last day for prospective special session organizers to contact the program office for booking blocks of sessions.
    February 1, 2026 Advance registration for the conference commences.
    February 13, 2026 Deadline to submit your paper or abstract.
    March 13, 2026 Last day for travel grant applications to be submitted to the CEA.
    March 24, 2026 Last day for notifying paper submitter on the acceptance or rejection of their paper for presentation.
    April 3, 2026 Last day for presenters to register. Presenters must register by this date or lose their conference program slot.
    Mid-April The preliminary program is expected to become available.
    May 3, 2026 Early registration ends and late registration fees apply thereafter.
    May 4, 2026 Last day to withdraw and receive a refund (full refund minus a $75 administration fee). After this date, the registration fee is non-refundable. 
    May 22, 2026 Online session day.
    May 28, 2026 Embrace Day sessions.
    May 29-30, 2026 The in-person sessions for paper presentations.
